My Current Perfumes and why I choose them [ VERSACE ]

First of all, as a graduate of Financial Peace University,  it's important for me to state that  I bought these perfumes  ON SALE. The 2 perfumes I will be talking about are #1. Versace Yellow Diamond #2. Blue Diamond Femme I had run out of perfumes leading up to this purchase so I was only looking to own 2 options.  And the sales made financial sense. My 2 requirements were; #1. An every day light perfume for work that will not over whelm my coworkers. #2. A musky , sexual, night time , for going out, evening wear perfume. #1. Versace Yellow Diamond Am so glad the consultant recommended this perfume to me even though I was very adamant about HATING floral scents. I cannot stand women who smell like a botanical garden or flower green house. I love this scent. It is NOT FLORAL or over powering at all. The citrus ( which was a concern ) is light and clean for a work perfume. #2. Blue Diamond Femme I loooooooove musky scents especially in men. An additional c...

Thrift with me : Goodwill Haul

It's been a while since I stepped foot into a goodwill. Beyond being able to find everyday items for super cheap prices, I love the broader mission of goodwill and all its efforts towards social equity. My goodwill budget is always between $10-$20. Sometimes I will intentionally not bring my wallet and only carry a paper bill to represent my spending cap because it is easy to get carried away while thrifting. My second restriction is, I will only shop or buy items with the sale tag of the day to ensure I get the additional 50% off. This takes a lot of discipline especially when you find something you love but it's not in the sale tag color of the day. You have to let it go and try again next time. So everything in this picture was 50% off the price tags.  1. Linchpin : Are you Indispensable by Seth Godin Seth Godin is an American author who's books turn to focus on entrepreneurship. This book was published in 2010 but am sure it's lessons are still applicable today. I ...

Book Review : The Alice Network by Kate Quinn

Image from : All Characters wanted I borrowed my copy from my local library as I do with a lot of my books and unfortunately returned it without thinking to take personalized pictures with it. So the image of the book above is from All characters wanted, who also has a book review for it. However, here is a picture of it on my instagram page with another book I am currently reading. I looooooooooooooved the Alice Network. This was a much needed break from my self help and spiritual books. I am a sucker for periodics especially stories that go back and forth between the past and the present. I love how the author inserts different themes about the feminist movement and the restrictions around women in those eras even those who fought for England in the World Wars., And in true James Bond fashion, you cant have a story about spies and not have a love story interwoven into it.  The 2 go together like rice and beans. I would say for me the story built up very slowly.  I...

Trend Alert : My 3 Charcoal Infused Skin and Hair Care Products

By now we should all be aware of the cyclic nature of our consumerism.  Every other year there's a recycled trend whether it's a fashion piece, a fad diet, a new* weight loss exercise program/equipment  or in this case, the next big item that must be an included ingredient in your meal, skin care or hair products. As we fade out our obsession with coconut oil & Quinoa, I noticed that Charcoal seems to be the next come back king. Charcoal infused products are hitting the counters and even restaurants! A 2015 new york time article titles : Charcoal Juice is Now a thing A 2015 article by Into the Gloss : Will you like charcoal with that Juice A 2017 Hindustan Times Article: Why adding activated charcoal to dishes is the newest food trend Keep in mind, as per with temporal trends, it's not that these are "new ideas" or products. Devotees of organic ingredients and the natural lifestyle movements have been fans ...

Tea Time with Shonda Rhimes (Year of Yes Book Review)

Let's just get to the Point. I loooooved the book! The End  But if you're one of those logical, analytical people who wants explanations and hard core evidence as back up, continue reading :) I'm use to reading fictions and self help books. I took me a minute to get into the book because the tone was very conversational. With self help books, even though there is dialogue happening and interactive exercises for you to do along the way, the tones are still for the most part formal conversations. Year to Yes felt like an organic conversation with a best friend after/during the consumption of several bottles of wine. Everything was left on the table. The honesty was raw and unapologetic. At a point I felt slightly uncomfortable because I felt like she was sharing too much of her insecurities . But I quickly realized that wasn't the issue. The issue is that am not used to seeing women in power talk about their vulnerability. I'm not use to r...

Women's Health Workout DVD : Train for your Body Type

Today I have been feeling out of sync with my body.  Everything feels very unbalanced. If you are some one who is completely in-tuned with your body you'll understand what am talking about. I walked around the block several times to "shake off" the sense of uneasiness to no avail. So I came back indoors to do a light work out hoping that I'll feel better I love home DVD workouts. They are convenient and it feels like you have a personal trainer in your living room cheering you on. They are also good for guiding you through proper techniques so you don't get injured through bad form/posture. And sometimes, as much as you're motivated to workout at home, you need the company! I also love that this dvd breaks down the workouts by body type. There are 3 types listed in the dvd and I usually click on the "Curvy" option ^_^ . There is also an "athletic body" option but I feel like am between those 2 so my mood determines which ...

Product Review : CVS Pharmacy Cold & Hot Sore Muscle Spray

Dupe for Icy Hot Pain Relieving Balm To be honest, I haven't tried the icy hot version. I didn't feel the need to because this one works out well for me. I can't guarantee that you will have the same results . Active Ingredients □ 7.6% Menthol □ 29.0% Methyl Salicylate Uses □ Pain relief therapy for arthritis, bruises, cramps, backache, muscle strains and sprains How I used it I was experiencing back pain which I traced back to wearing the wrong shoes. I was also dealing with sore muscles from over training. And in general, I was working a job which required standing for long hours. I used the spray when I came home at the end of my day after a nice warm shower. It helped make the pain better for the next day. I will also take it to work and use periodically. The effect was immediate. And just like the name, first it's cold then it becomes hot and the sensation spreads around the region. Downside : It has a strong methyl scent and I dont feel like it ...

Product Review : Bluedio Blue Tooth Headphones

I am one of those...."I need music to pump me up!  through  this workout" type of girl. But sometimes it gets tricky having headphones with cords connected to your cellphone or mp3 player while  trying  to perform a crazy routine. You either end up pulling the cords out of the jack or they come off your ears depending on what you are doing. Sometimes the cords are just in the way. When I complained about working out by trying to follow the instructions on a YouTube video on my tablet, a coworker recommended  wireless headphones. Like Duh! Why didn't I think of that?!  He also specifically recommended this brand and I am so glad I followed through with it. I love the Bluedio bluetooth headphones because it gets the job done. I am not one to buy technology because of its aesthetics. I want the products I buy to just do their job, not look pretty. For this headphones I only had 2 requirements. 1. Allow me to wirel...

Review : Marika Sports Bra

Recently I had been trying to revamp my fitness "closet" as part of a large scale attempt to get my mindset back on track. I went into TJ Maxx with the intentions of picking up a couple of Under Armour sports bras because I love the brand. However, I was not prepared for the price tags that accompanied the awesome bras. After browsing the racks for alternative options, I spotted the Marika sports bras. At first skepticism crept in because I did not recognize the brand. But what I did like love was the price tag. I could afford to buy one and test run it without feeling bad about the money spent if it did not work out PROS - Extremely good support. Especially for ladies who are blessed in the bosom - The quality of the material and design are great - Affordable for those on a budget who still want to purchase something of great quality - The additional bra-like straps in the back allows you to customize the tightness or looseness to your preferenc...
