My Boston Roller Derby Experience

I attended my first ever Boston Roller derby game this past Saturday  and here are my observations. #1. I was expecting more physical contact. Does that make me a barbarian? # 2.The game reminds me of american football. The difference is , instead of their "QB" running straight across a field, they were running in circles in a loop. # For the same reasons I do not like watching football, I could not watch a full half of this sport. The turnover rate for action was too large for me. I hate sports that have a lot of stop and go. What am I suppose to do during those transition time? I dislike having to be in a perpetual state of getting excited only to calm back down then get excited then calm back down....when I go high I like to stay high emotionally and when I come down, am done for the day. Full Disclosure : I watched this game sober and something tells me that perhaps some libation would have completely elevated my experience. But then again, if I need...

Entitled Expectations

"Expectations are premeditated resentments" Entitlement : A belief that one is inherently deserving of certain privileges or special treatment. Expectations : The act or state of looking forward to something Lately, I've been reflecting on how my  unme t entitled expectations surrounding the various relationships in my life have left me feeling angry, frustrated and resentful.  The more I dig into my feelings, the more I begin to question if I am deserving of the support I expect? What makes me feel like I am entitled to support? Have I sowed into the relationships and it's a matter of me just being disappointed when I tried to reap my investments?? And in the case of family, is it wise to have expectations whether you have earned them or not? And should one have to earn them in the context of family relationships?  I honestly do not know the answers to these questions.  Am still wrestling with how I proceed emotionally fr...

My Smoothie for Heart Health

Did you know that men & women can sometimes experience  different symptoms when experiencing a heart attack? I consider my heart to be very healthy. Some of the things I do  including leading an active lifestyle that helps with my heart health  is what I eat. One of my favorite meals or to-go snacks are  smoothies. The invention of machines like the ninja or magic  bullet has made smoothie making into a less than 10 mins culinary  extravaganza. I love my smoothies very simple. I've never felt the need to make it exotic with the latest fad  ingredients like matcha and etc. Berries, bananas, flax seeds, some  sort of   protein powder &  milk is all I need in a good smoothie. I  know it  sounds boring but  it gets the job done in terms of taste and  nutritional value. Berries and Flax seeds have macronutri...

Celtics vs OKC thunders Game day 02/03/2019

If there was ever a day that validates Boston/New England as one of the best sports fan cities in the US, that day was yesterday, Sunday February 4th , 2019. In Ice Hockey, the Boston Bruins won their game against Washington Capital 1-0 . Causing washington's 14 game winning strike to come to a complete halt. In football, the New England Patriots won the super bowl against the Los Angeles Rams And in Basketball, I watched the celtics defeat the Oklahoma City Thunders at TD Gardens.  It was an electrifying day here for fans of all the sports. I wish I could tell you that I was out in the streets jumping for joy with everyone but I wasn't. This is still Boston and the weather was cold , so I stayed home, cuddled up with a good cup of tea, living vicariously through everyone's social media highlights.
