African Health Cup

One of the things I miss about moving from Atlanta to Boston are the many soccer tournaments I had access to be involve in either as a player, ref or fan.

Sure I'm playing summer pick - up games every now and then but i had been researching on African soccer teams and tournaments in the area.

I finally found one called the African Health Cup, a soccer tournament that seems to be geared towards capitalizing on the community's love for the game as a communication medium to educate people about HIV. I plan on attending the event next weekend; Saturday July 7th @ Cawley Stadium to check it out and see what it’s all about.

The concept reminds me of the USA/Africa based organization, grassroots soccer, a charitable organization that uses soccer to spread HIV education to teens & young adults in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Zambia about HIV

The flyer states that it is a FREE family event so if you happen to be in the area … stop by and say Hi. I'll be the girl with the crazy hair taking pictures for her blog.

Depuis que je suis déménagée de Atlanta a boston, l’une des choses que je manqué sont les tournois de foot par des equipe africaine pendent les festive comme les fête de l'Indépendance pour le cameroun, la nigerie, Ghana, cote’ d’ivoire , Libéria, La Guinée , RDC-Congo et etc… ou bien les fete de July 4^th, memorial day, fête des Pères et cetera

Oui de temps en temps,  je joue au foot dans les pick-up games mais c’est pas la même chose quoi..

Finalement, j’ai trouve un tournoi qui s’appelle AFRICAN HEALTH CUP/La Coupe Africaine de la Santé.

C'est un tournoi qui cherche à enseigner les gens sur le SIDA/VIH.  Ça va se passer la semaine prochaine, juillet 7^th  à Cawley Stadium, Lowell, MA. Il s'agit d'un événement gratuit pour la famille et je serai là (ma première fois) pour regardez les matches et prendre des photos pour mon blog.

L'idée ressemble à grassroots soccer, une association qui utilise le football pour diffuser l'éducation du VIH à les adolescents et jeunes adultes qui vivre dans  les pays de Zimbabwe, l'Afrique du Sud et en Zambie
