Mount Cameroon Activity

The Cameroon state radio announced that Mount Cameroon had a small explosion in which 2 guides where injured on Monday Feb 6th 2012.
I remember a school excursion to the Mountain in 1999 after its last massive explosion. My boarding school is in Limbe, a town not far from Buea where the mountain resides. We went  a couple of days after the incident. To see the lava still flowing down was kinda cool but at the same time the destruction left behind was very painful to watch. I hope there isn't another volcanic explosion in the near future...

Between this active volcano and the Lake Nyos disaster which emitted poisonous gas that killed  1,746 people we have a lot to deal with from a geological standpoint.
